Jib Cottage
Situated right in the heart of the coastal village of Blakeney in North Norfolk, Jib Cottage is one of our smallest but sweetest romantic retreats. Ideal for couples to use as a base to explore the coast, the cottage is just a short stroll from The Quay and all the village amenities.
Jib Cottage has been decorated with a fresh coastal theme throughout. The front door opens from a gravel entrance loke into the good-sized sitting room, which has a leather two-seater sofa and armchair, electric fire, 24″ Smart TV with Freeview, DVD player, CD player and a selection of games and DVD’s for cosy evenings in! Two steps lead up to the little kitchen and true to the cottages nautical name, the kitchen is kitted out just like a galley on a boat! The clever owner has made the most of this narrow area and has provided all the equipment needed to rustle up a simple home cooked meal. There is a Morphy Richards mini oven, mini coolbox fridge (no ice making facilities), microwave and kettle.

Lucy, August 2025We have a lovely short stay over the bank holiday. The cottage is very sweet and perfect as a base, which is all we needed. It is very small so mind your heads, but it has everything you need. My only issue was that it was quite dusty and the carpets are very stained upstairs – it is in need of a little revamp. That said, it didn’t detract from the fact that this is in a lovely location and served us well. Communication was excellent and it’s definitely worth considering for short stays.
Laura, August 2025Lovely place, great location. VERY small (very!) including quite restricted head space upstairs – and I’m not tall! A fabulous place to explore the beautiful north Norfolk coast for a few days, in a great, very central spot in lovely Blakeney.
Martyn, August 2025Nice, cosy, authentic Norfolk cobbled cottage in a great location, just a short stroll down to delightful Blakeney harbour. Kitchen is “compact”, and small oven unit could do with upgrading, but had everything you need. Steep narrow staircase to upstairs bed and bathroom, not a problem for me, but may cause issues if you have problems with your knees!
Joanne, July 2025Job Cottage was a lovely little home in Blakeney, perfect for two of us enjoying our long weekend away. It is always a massive plus when a property is dog friendly (inc. fee’s and reasonable house rules ) The cottage is compact so watch your head on the sloping ceiling upstairs and watch your step on the narrow staircase. However, it’s characterful, charming and over all comfortable. The house is on the main high street so as central as it gets. Perfect for walking to the shops, cafes, pubs, marina and as far as the next town Cley with the dogs. Quite a lot of foot traffic meant it was noisy in the cottage and parking albeit very near by for 7£ per day but not onsite. The price you pay for living in such a prime location. We really enjoyed the local pubs, espresso bar, magpie cafe of course but our favourite by far was Birdy’s food truck for breakfast down at the Quay and The Harnser pub for Sunday roast in Cley. We enjoyed our stay.
Tony, July 2025Cottage was ideal if a little on the small side, but I knew that when I booked. Great location within easy reach of shops and pubs. Would stay there again.

Tristan, June 2025Nice little cottage right on the high street. Small, but more than big enough for a couple (in our case with a young baby). Clean, great shower, good communication and easy to access. But it’s all about the location, perfect!
Mary, June 2025A very pleasant stay. The cottage is in a great location. We had hoped to eat in for one night, but there is no dining table which is a shame since restaurants are on the expensive side.
Kim, March 2025Cute little cottage
Linda, March 2025A warm cosy cottage ,
Alice, February 2025Jib cottage is perfectly located for exploring Blakeney and beyond. It is the perfect size for a couple. James and the team were responsive when we had an issue with the water (Anglian Water turned off the supply) and arranged a smooth transfer to one of their other cottages in the village.
Martyn, February 2025Cosy cottage in a great location for exploring the North Norfolk coast. Full of character, if a little short of head space in places.
Eli Chad, January 2025I just spent a very peaceful and relaxed Christmas week at Jib Cottage, mid-way up High Street in Blakeney. All was clean, with holiday decorations, hospitality gifts, and essential kitchen supplies, eg, tea, coffee, washing-up liquid, and so on, tho not bin bags (which I had carried with me in any event, and left the remaining bags for others). Heating and hot water were plentiful, towels/sheets were appropriate, free car parking was available on the street nearby, and it was on the whole, enjoyable.A few suggestions, tho: regarding the kitchen, the “fridge” is only a cool box (cannot make ice), some cooking utensils were sparse, non-existent or damaged, and there was no large, lidded cooking pot; and, the tv was a “challenge”, eg, to access “free” channels, except for BBC and Sky news. Otherwise, it is generally a quiet, sweet little place!Rooms: 5/5?
Rhys, October 2024We stayed here for 6 days in mid-October and had a great time. It is very cosy (i.e. quite small) but it had everything we needed and the size of the cute cottage certainly didn’t affect our enjoyment of Blakeney. The location was fantastic, right on the Hight Street and only a minute from the nearest pub. James was very responsive and answered our questions quickly and effectively. There was also a lovely welcome basket of cookies, apple juice and local wine.
Jane Hawkes, November 2019Very centrally positioned cottage for two in Blakeney. Lovely seaside decor and well equipped. It was very warm and cosy, so much so we didn
