Situated away from the bustle, yet just a short walk from the centre of this popular village our guests enter the property through its pretty enclosed courtyard garden and in to the stylish, open plan main living space. This lovely light, bright room consists of a large sitting area with comfortable soft furnishings, LED TV with FreeSat and DVD player as well as plenty of DVD’s books and board games for quiet, cosy nights in. The dining table sits in
front of one of the large, original sash windows with lovely views over the courtyard garden, across the pretty water meadows that surround the River Glaven and towards the nearby village of Wiveton – worth the short walk to visit its award winning eateries; gastro-pub The Wiveton Bell and the famous Wiveton Hall Cafe and PYO fruit farm.
The kitchen area at Little Owl is very well equipped with everything you would expect in high end self catering accommodation including a brushed stainless steel double oven, a large fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave etc. The large island unit has a ‘breakfast bar’ with two fantastic art-deco style stools. There is also a small utility area that houses a washer/drier and has plenty of storage space.
The bedroom with its luxurious, large king sized, oak framed bed is another a lovely light and bright room again with a large sash window with views over the water meadows. The bathroom at Little Owl is finished with stylish travertine tiles and features a wonderful, large roll topped bath tub perfect for relaxing long soaks, a walk in shower with drencher head and double basins in front of a large inset mirror.
Outside the enclosed courtyard garden is a real sun-trap – a superb spot to sit and relax whilst enjoying the peaceful views. There is a wooden table and chairs and the clever owner has built an inset gas BBQ perfect for al fresco dining on warm summers evenings!
The village of Cley-next-the-Sea itself is one of the most popular villages along the North Norfolk coast and importantly it retains a real feeling of being unspoilt by its popularity. It offers visitors an array of small, independent art galleries and shops including the renowned Picnic Fayre Deli and fabulous Cley Smokehouse; a wonderful little old fashioned Smokery that has become a bit of a North Norfolk institution! There are also two good pubs as well as numerous cafes, the restaurant at the famous Cley Windmill, and Antiquarian book shop and last but not least the wonderful shingle beach!
