The White House is a lovely character cottage in a superb spot in Wiveton. This pretty brick and flint cottage, situated in the heart of the village, is just half a mile from Blakeney and Cley.
A Holiday Cottage with Bags of Character
The kitchen has a large bay window overlooking the garden and a lovely blue and white colour scheme. It’s fully equipped with a round table, electric cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave. There is also a Rayburn range, which is left on ‘tick-over’ to keep the kitchen cosy whatever the weather. The house has an oil fired central heating system, with the boiler also situated in the kitchen. Between the kitchen and the dining hall is an entrance porch with space to hang your coat. There’s also a downstairs cloakroom with a toilet, hand basin and a small shower.
Delightful Dining Hall
In the middle of the cottage there’s a lovely dining hall with stairs leading up to the first floor. The pine dining table is perfect for family meals and the room has several bookshelves crammed with plenty of great holiday reading material. There are two sitting rooms at the front of the house. The larger of the two has double doors opening into a beautiful conservatory overlooking the garden.
The doors connecting these sitting rooms open to give the feeling of space and light. There’s plenty of comfy seating, a wood burning stove, a TV with Freeview and a DVD player – everything you need for cosy evenings in. The smaller sitting room can be used as a quiet ‘snug’ or office area. This is very useful for guests needing to do a little work while on holiday – the free Wi-Fi helps too.
Upstairs there are two king size bedrooms, both of which have a light and airy feel. They also have plenty of hanger and drawer space.
A selection of ‘arts and crafts’ style fabrics complement the simple and practical accommodation.
The upstairs bathroom has a toilet, hand basin, bath and electric shower.
Outside is a delightful garden, with roses, fruit trees and a small lawn. The garden catches plenty of sun all day long, so it’s ideal for alfresco dining. The gravel driveway provides parking for two cars.
The owners have converted an outbuilding at the bottom of the garden into a useful annex. This has a large open main room with mezzanine space, and a wet room with a shower, toilet and basin. There’s also a washing machine and tumble dryer.
A double bed is tucked away in the main room, which can be used at an extra charge of £70 per booking (please give us at least 2 weeks notice if you would like this making up). There’s a sofa and TV (at the moment only for use with DVD’s) in this room too.
A Dog Friendly Cottage
You’re welcome to bring your doggie chums along to enjoy their stay at White House. There’s a charge of £20 per pooch, and owners must read the house rules and clear up all evidence of their stay both inside and outside the cottage.
