SB49If you are looking for a really spacious family holiday venue, then Salty Bottom could be the one for you! Situated down a village lane a short distance from the Salt Marshes, beach and renowned village pub The Dun Cow, Salty Bottom is one of a small cluster of newly converted barns in the beautiful coastal village of Salthouse. Just 4 miles from the Georgian market town of Holt and the small coastal harbour at Blakeney, SB2Salthouse has panoramic views out over the wildlife haven of the salt marshes to the sea beyond and the pace of life in the little coastal village is like stepping back in time.

SB1Driving into the large gravel courtyard around which the 3 barns are situated, Salty Bottom can be found on the left hand side, with plenty of parking in front of the double gates which lead to steps down to its private courtyard garden and the entrance to the barn. The main entrance is through an original barn door opening and leads into a double height hallway, with oak stairs to the first floor and the large open plan reception room to the left. The sitting area of the space SB42is made up to two large leather  sofas and two armchairs surrounding a fire place with log burning stove and there is a TV with Apple TV and BluRay for entertaining SB7evenings in. Beyond the sitting area is the dining space which has the most enormous heavy wooden table with equally robust benches running the full length of each side..enough space for all the tribe to sit down together! The house has free WiFi and there is a SONOS sound system for the ground floor.

Through to the kitchen space which opens up to another double height room, giving a wonderful sense of space and light. The excellent quality kitchen has cream painted units under dark granite work surfaces and in SB11the centre of the room is a large and extremelySB9 useful island unit also with a granite surface. Within the kitchen is a range style electric cooker with two oven and 5 space electric hob and also a large free standing Miele stainless steel fridge/freezer, integrated dishwasher and plenty of cupboard and drawer space. Off the kitchen is a small internal utility room with a Belfast sink and washer/drier.

SB21Off the sitting room is a ground floor bedroom withSB14 double bed and en suite shower room with a large walk in shower wash basin and wc. This large bedroom also contains a desk and so is a good place slightly away from the main hubbub of the barn if any work needs to be done.

Upstairs are the remaining four bedrooms arranged off a SB39long hallway. SB37To the right is a king size room with en suite bathroom with shower above the bath wc and double wash basin. To the left is a bunk room and to the end of the hall to the right is a king size room with en suite containing a corner bath, double washbasin and wc. To the left is a dormitory bedroom containing two sets of bunk beds sharing an en suite shower room with wash basin and wc. All the bedrooms have sturdy oak framed beds and furnishings with built in wardrobes and the bathrooms have SB28limestone tiled floors and walls, complementing the architecture of the Barn.

Outside the courtyard is fully SB47enclosed with gates to the drive and to the rear lawned area which banks steeply up  beyond the barn and courtyard. There is a large all weather rattan table and chair set in the courtyard for alfresco dinging and plenty of space for games etc.

Raised flower beds flank the retaining walls of the courtyard.

SB48The owners have furnished the barn in an eclectic but practical style so suitable for family holiday occupation and the natural architecture of the brick and flint barn is enhanced by natural flooring of either limestone tiles or wood throughout. Unusual artworks and objects following a coastal theme add to the ambience of the Barn. We are sure our guests will enjoy laid back coastal living at Salty Bottom.
