Situated down a pretty little ‘loke’ or gravel courtyard, in the heart of beautiful Blakeney, Spar Cottage is ideal for couples or small families wishing to come to stay in this beautiful coastal village. Just a stone’s throw from the village delicatessen and the White Horse ‘gastro-pub’, and a short stroll down to the pretty Quay, this cottage is a lovely cosy base for a break in North Norfolk.
Entering from the ‘loke’ into the little sitting room, there are two small tweed sofas arranged around the fire place and it’s authentic looking high quality coal effect stove, ideal for a cosy ambience during cooler evenings. There is a TV with DVD, iPod dock and a DAB digital radio included for quiet evenings in the cottage. The owners have fitted in a small gate leg table for dining and there are 4 dining chairs placed around the room. The kitchen which is situated off the sitting room is well equipped with wooden units housing a single electric oven and hob, under counter fridge with ice box, dishwasher, microwave oven and toaster. Both these rooms have large sash windows overlooking the pretty ‘loke’ to the front of the cottage.
Stairs from the sitting room lead up to the first floor landing to the left of which is the main bedroom with king size bed. There is plenty of clothes storage space with a good sized chest of drawers and the original hanging cupboard built in to the space next to the chimney breast.
To the right of the top of the stairs is a really good sized bathroom which not only has a lovely roll top bath but separate walk in shower as well, alongside the classically proportioned wash basin and wc. Again both these room have large original sash windows giving them a light and airy feel.
From the landing, a narrow set of stairs lead up to the hidden surprise at Spar Cottage; the attic has been cleverly converted to make a lovely extra bedroom with adjoining dressing area complete with its own little cloakroom containing a wc and hand basin. The owners have fitted a 4ft wide small double bed into this room, ideal for an extra guest or even two who enjoy sharing a cosy bed space! Again the attic rooms are very light and bright with both windows and also Velux roof lights which are fitted with integrated black out blinds. The caring owners have put a second TV with DVD in this room along with seating and facilities for making a hot drink without travelling down to the kitchen. Along with this there is a dressing room and separate W.C. with basin so the 2nd floor bedroom is a cosy self-contained little space to relax in as well!
With electric central heating, this cosy little cottage makes an ideal base for couples or small families at all times of the year and is priced both for one couple using the main bedroom and bathroom and for small families and friends wishing to use the second floor suite as well.
