Wye House is a lovely family holiday home in the centre of the sought after coastal village of Blakeney. It has been extended, improved and completely refurbished with a lovely modern kitchen and new bathrooms! The well planned extension to the property has created a wonderful light, bright open plan living space, with large sliding glass doors that open out on to the pretty patio and garden, letting the outside ‘in’ on sunny days. The house now has four bedrooms and two bathrooms, with one of the doubles and a walk in shower room on the ground floor making it ideal for guests who prefer not to have to use stairs.

Situated half way up Blakeney High Street and just a couple of minute stroll down to the Quay, Wye House is of Georgian origins and would have originally been a merchants house. The sympathetic restoration work retains the original feel of the house but has allowed for easy 21st century living with its large open plan family room with sitting, dining and kitchen areas.

The sitting area at the front of the house has large and comfortable ‘shabby chic’ sofas and armchairs clustered around the open fire and a TV with freeview and Dvd for cosy evenings in. Wye house has full oil central heating and is light and airy in summer and warm and cosy in winter. The dining area looks over the garden and has a large antique table and eight chairs. The whole house is full of a carefully sourced and eclectic mix of antique and modern furniture and an interesting collection of prints, paintings and old film posters decorate the walls throughout the house.

The kitchen creates an ‘L’ shape from the dining area and is newly fitted with glossy white units beneath a granite work surface and contains an electric oven and hob, dishwasher and washing machine . There is a free standing fridge/ freezer and microwave. The whole room is very light and bright with its white painted wooden floor and light coming from both ends of the room with windows and French doors overlooking the pretty rear garden

Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom at the side of the house with a cream metal framed bed and also on the ground floor is a shower room containing a large walk in shower, wash basin and wc.

Stairs from the entrance hall lead up to the first floor where there are two further double bedrooms and a children’s twin room. There is also a spacious bathroom with lovely claw foot bath with ‘telephone handle’ shower attachment within it, wash basin and wc.
To the rear of the property is a pretty garden with terrace area containing an outside table and chairs for alfresco dining and lawn surrounded by cottage style flower beds, shrubs and small trees.

Wye has always been a favourite with our guests even before its major refurbishment and we are sure it will attract even more regular visitors with its sympathetic but stylish new look.
