IMG_8515The Courtyard Flat is a wonderful holiday let that comprises one wing of a historic large house in Wells-next-the-Sea, North Norfolk. Renovated and completely blocked off from the main house The Courtyard Flat sits in a lovely quiet and peaceful spot about a 10-minute walk from the town centre and famous Quayside. Recently updated the lovely high ceilings and large sash windows give this unique bolthole a quirky sense of grandeur as well as a lovely light and bright, airy ambience. The interior hints towards French country house IMG_8523style with a soft grey and white colour scheme and some beautiful antique furniture making it lovely romantic accommodation for couples IMG_8527looking for a peaceful retreat on the North Norfolk coast. It also benefits from private off road parking for one car and a pretty little courtyard garden.

Situated away from the bustle, yet just a short walk from the centre of this popular seaside town our guests enter the property through its pretty courtyard garden and into a small IMG_8551hallway, off which is a handy utility room and a door that leads into the main open plan living space. This lovely light, bright room consists of a cosy IMG_8579sitting area with comfortable soft furnishings around the high-end electric log burner, there is a large wall-mounted LED TV with FreeSat and DVD player as well as plenty of DVD’s and books for quiet, cosy nights in. The dining table sits in front of one of the large, original sash windows overlooking the courtyard garden.

IMG_8584The kitchen area at The Courtyard Flat is well equipped with everything you would expect in high-end self-catering accommodation IMG_8651including a brushed stainless steel sink, dual use oven/microwave, fridge, dishwasher etc. There is a washer/dryer in the small utility room.

Upstairs the master bedroom with its luxurious, large kingsize, antique style bed is another lovely light and bright room again with a large sash window with views over the courtyard. This room has a gorgeous original feature IMG_8563fireplace and antique table sewing machine. The bathroom is through a single bedroom (available at extra IMG_8654cost, please give at least two weeks notice) and has a shower above a large bath.

Outside to the front of the property, the pretty courtyard garden is bordered with lavender and bamboo making a lovely space to sit and relax in the sun. The neighbouring property’s garden (which the courtyard of The Courtyard Flat is partially open to) is IMG_8714accessed via a path which runs from the car parking area adjacent.

The town of Wells-next-the-IMG_8495Sea itself is one of the most popular seaside towns along the North Norfolk coast and importantly it retains a real feeling of being unspoilt by its popularity. It offers visitors a huge array of small, independent art galleries, shops, pubs, restaurants and amusements as well as its famous sandy beach and brightly coloured beach huts.

This delightful little property oozes charm and character and its location, away from the hustle and bustle and yet conveniently close to all of the fantastic amenities available in Wells next the Sea means it really does offer the best of both worlds; a quiet relaxing break in a quintessential bustling English seaside town.
