IMG_9918We are delighted to welcome the superb Brewers Barn on to our portfolio of special places to stay in North Norfolk. This wonderful, contemporary barn conversion will delight guests with its stylish interior design and great position in the heart of the historic village of Letheringsett. Just a stones throw from the award winning gastro pub ‘The Kings Head’, Brewers Barn is perfectly positioned for those wanting to visit the breathtaking North Norfolk coastline (2 miles) and explore the numerous delightful market towns and IMG_9928idyllic villages in the area such as Holt (1 mile).

Recently converted, Brewers Barn was originally a section IMG_9969of the six bay malthouse dating back to the late 17th century that made up part of the old Letheringsett Brewery Mill. In the late 18th Century the brewery owner decided to convert the horse driven mill to water power by taking a cut from the River Glaven much to the dismay of Letheringsett Watermill just 150 yards upstream! Despite this the Brewery Mill eventually fell in to ruin and The Letheringsett Watermill is still running to this day making it the last IMG_0002remaining fully working watermill in Norfolk and it is open to the public. One enters Brewers Barn through a glazed door from the shared attractive courtyard and parking area into an open hallway with an exposed, original red brick wall and stylish up-lighters. This hallway leads to the superb, sociable open plan space that makes up the main living area of this IMG_9975fabulous property. Light and airy and with a vaulted ceiling above the spectacular feature staircase, this area contains a well-equipped modern IMG_0059kitchen, a stylish dining area and a relaxing sitting area with two comfy 3 seat sofas and a large arm chair gathered around the large LED LG ‘Smart’ TV with FreeSat and sound bar. There are shelves with plenty of books, BluRay discs and games. The owners have provided an X-Box One Console and free WIFI in the property, making quiet cosy evenings in a pleasure.

IMG_0014The stylish dining area sits directly below the tall vaulted ceiling area that towers above the glass encased upper hallway, making it a really IMG_0025spectacular place to sit and eat.

The kitchen has good quality modern units with integrated fridge and dishwasher under the gorgeous bright white Quartz work surface. The owners have provided all of the mod-cons you would expect in a high-end holiday let including a Nespresso machine. There is plenty of crockery, glasses and cutlery and a really good range of kitchen utensils so guests can create culinary IMG_0035masterpieces using the great array of locally sourced foods available. Nearby Holt has a wonderful selection of IMG_9991independent butchers, fishmongers, bakers and a greengrocer as well as the renowned department store Bakers and Larners with its ‘Fortnum and Mason’ style food hall. The multi award-winning farm-shop and restaurant ‘Back to the Garden’ is also less than a mile up the road from Brewers Barn and is highly recommended by us all here at BCC!

IMG_0078The ground floor is also home to a useful utility room with washing/drier and separate freezer and a cloakroom. The IMG_0133owners are happy to accept up to two well behaved dogs at Brewers Barn but would like to stress that the ‘house rules ‘ regarding dogs are adhered to.

The bedrooms are all on the first floor and comprise a spacious master bedroom with kingsize bed and en-suite shower room, a double bedroom that also has an en-suite IMG_0150shower room and a twin rooms that uses the family bathroom with its luxurious double sided bath tub. All the bedrooms have lovely, high IMG_0098vaulted ceilings as well as LED T.V’s. The spectacular upper hallway is one of the real stand out features of this property and guests can take time to enjoy this space in the ‘snug’, open to the hallway. This area, perfect for relaxing with a good book, is home to a sofa and a large bookcase.

IMG_0163Outside there is parking for two cars, one in the converted cart-shed and one adjacent to the wall to the right of the property. Brewers Barn has a pretty, small, enclosed south IMG_0086facing courtyard garden – a lovely little area to relax listening to the burble of the mill stream. To the front of the property is a table and chairs and charcoal BBQ for alfresco dining on sunny summer days. Norfolk quirk alert! – there is a right of way to the neighbouring property through Brewers Barns courtyard garden.

IMG_9954Brewers Barn sits in a superb central position in beautiful North Norfolk. Away from the hustle and bustle, but within a few miles of the popular IMG_9939coastal villages of North Norfolk, the award winning beaches at Wells and Holkham and the superb market towns of Holt and Burham Market. It is also well placed for trips to places such as the Pensthorpe Nature Reserve (the home of BBC’s Springwatch program) the historical stately homes of Blickling and Felbrigg or a fun day out at Fakenham Races (Horse and Camel racing!) to name just a few. There are also numerous beautiful walks accessible directly from the barn.
