Puddleduck Cottage is a charming holiday home in the centre of the sought after village of Stiffkey. Built in 1820 for the crew of the local customs boat who also acted as the areas coastguards, this cottage has been sensitively restored to retain many of its original features.

The ground floor offers a light, bright open plan living space with a good sized living room and a kitchen/dining area. The newly fitted kitchen has quality granite work surfaces and is well equipped with a brushed stainless steel electric oven with halogen hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge with freezer box. The recently furnished sitting room has a wonderfully efficient log burner set within the cottage’s original fireplace, making it very cosy in the winter. There is a new LED TV with DVD player and Freesat, and the property even has free Wi-Fi.

The stairs enter directly into the spacious bedroom which is set within the eaves to expose the beams. It has a comfy king size bed, large walk-in wardrobe which also houses a washing machine, and another LED TV with DVD and Freesat. The bedroom has lovely views over the garden, through the village to the countryside beyond. There is an en-suite bathroom with an electric shower above the bath.

Outside is a good sized, enclosed paved garden with pleasant shrub borders. Here you’ll find good quality garden furniture and a BBQ for al fresco dining on summer evenings. The cottage and its garden are tucked well back off the coast road. It is a matter of steps from the wonderful gastropub The Red Lion, which has a great selection of beers and wine and serves good hearty food all year round.

Puddleduck Cottage is lovely and light during the summer months, while the underfloor heating and superb Clearview log burner mean it stays warm and cosy through even the coldest winter.

Stiffkey village is in a very picturesque conservation area, with footpaths leading to the sea just a short stroll from the cottage. Nearby the well-stocked village shop sells coffee, cakes and local produce.

*Please note, not all cottages with a woodburner supply logs for guests.
