Spar Cottage

Spar Cottage is a traditional brick and flint Grade 2 Listed Building located in the heart of Blakeney on the North Norfolk Coast. The owners have taken a lot of care in making this a home from home. Paintings by local artists adorn the walls around the cottage together with matching accessories.  Easy access to the local village delicatessen being only a very short walk away for those fresh, breakfast croissants, and the White Horse ‘gastro pub’ and The Moorings restaurant being a short stroll on your way down to the pretty Quay, this cottage is a lovely base to get away from it all for a well-deserved break!

Situated in a pretty “Loke” off the High Street you enter the cottage into a small, recently decorated and well-furnished sitting room with two very, comfy pale grey, linen sofas and an armchair. There is a high quality wood-burner effect electric fire, Smart T.V with access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney etc. (for guests with appropriate subscriptions) making it ideal for relaxing nights in with a bottle of wine.

A good size, well equipped, fitted kitchen with painted units is situated off the sitting room where you will find everything you need from the electric oven and hob, under counter fridge with ice box, dishwasher and washing machine/dryer. A clever dining table has been provided which can fold down to seat two or open up to seat four. A electric iron and ironing board can be found stored in the sitting room cupboard. Both rooms have large, timber sash windows overlooking the ‘loke’ to the front of the cottage.

Stairs from the sitting room lead up to the first floor landing as you step into the main bedroom which has been decorated to a high standard. Along with the comfy, master bed (with electric blanket for those cold nights) a hairdryer and hair tongs are also provided. There is plenty of storage space with a good-sized chest of drawers and wardrobe built into the alcove.

To the right of the first floor landing is a really generous sized bath and shower room. Relax after a good, long walk with a hot bath in the lovely rolled top bath or separate shower alongside the classically proportioned wash basin and w.c.  There is a large heated towel rail.

From the landing, a roped handrail leads you up a narrow flight of stairs to the hidden surprise of Spar Cottage; the generous attic space has been cleverly converted to make a lovely bedroom with a large adjoining dressing room complete with en-suite w.c. and wash basin plus its own little vanity area. The owners have installed a small, double bed in the sleeping area together with a comfortable seating area and TV, this makes for a self-contained area to relax in. Ample storage is provided with a large area for clothes hanging in the dressing room together with a chest of drawers. A butler tray with electric kettle, tea and coffee making facilities to save you going down to the kitchen (as long as you remember to bring up the milk!).

With electric central heating throughout, Spar Cottage offers ideal self-catering accommodation at any time of year, for a welcome break on this wonderful stretch of the North Norfolk coast.
