The additional mezzanine bedroom enjoys beautiful views across the lake.
The entrance to Sennowe Park is through a magnificent double gatehouse and then down around a mile of private road. The Boathouse itself is tucked away in a completely magical private location with the picturesque lake and parkland on one side and woodland on the other. The rear aspect of the house is made in the traditional wattle and daub and there is a large gravel parking area with room for three to four cars next to this ‘gable end’. The entrance to The Boathouse itself is up a small staircase which leads to the fantastic decking area that runs the majority of the way around the building including a large area with outdoor furniture with gorgeous views over the lake.
Internally the main living room in The Boathouse is completely open plan and opened up to the spectacular exposed eaves giving a wonderful feeling of spaciousness and combined with the large, continuous windows that fill three sides of the building, a light and airy ambience that is instantly relaxing. There are three main areas in this room. A cosy sitting area with comfy soft furnishings, LED T.V. with FreeSat and BluRay DVD player and of course the log burning stove that sits in a magnificent fireplace with its original herringbone brickwork backing. There is free WIFI at The Boathouse.
The kitchen has all been ingeniously integrated into a single island unit, it is very well equipped with a brushed stainless steel double oven and halogen hob, dishwasher, fridge with icebox and a Nespresso coffee machine as well as all of the other appliances and equipment you would expect. Next to the kitchen is the round dining table that can comfortably seat four and a console unit with a digital radio and iPod dock.
Through a door to the right of the fireplace is the main bedroom which has a lovely comfortable super king sized bed and an en-suite bathroom. Through the door to the left, there is a small utility room with a washer dryer and a shower room with another toilet and basin.
Gorgeous views overlooking lake and parkland
Externally large glazed French doors open out from the kitchen dining area on to the large decked area that overlooks the lake and surrounding parkland. There is a large outdoor table and chairs on this decked area perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening, or al fresco dining all whilst taking in the beautiful surroundings. There is a small lawned area open to the lake for sunbathing, and the owners have made the majority of their parkland permissible for guests at The Boathouse. There is also a rowing boat kept under The Boathouse for guests use if you fancy a paddle on the lake. It must be pointed out that the rowing boat is used at guests own risk.
Being so close to Pensthorpe Nature Reserve the lake at Sennowe is a birdwatchers paradise with huge numbers of species, both migratory and resident visiting throughout the year.
Ideal for honeymoons, anniversaries or any romantic retreat, The Boathouse has undergone a full, sympathetic renovation over the last two years and now offers luxurious accommodation for up to four people. It is as cosy and romantic in the winter with its underfloor heating and large log burner as it is light and airy in the summer and it is equally spectacular in all seasons!
No dogs permitted at the property.
A £125.00 Security deposit will be ring-fenced during your stay and released on departure.

Haris, January 2025Beautiful property and location. Elegant and gracious hosts. Blakeney Cottage Co/James were effective in managing the stay, responding efficiently with courtesy.
Peppa Sheridan, February 2023We had the best stay at the Boathouse in Guist; it was quite a magical location and we will most certainly return in the future – we didn’t want to leave! A relaxing and comfortable stay, good service from the Blakeney Cottage Company, who appear to have some excellent cottages on their books! Highly recommend.Rooms: 5/5?
Millie, June 2019I stayed for 3 nights at the Boathouse, Sennowe Park and it was truly beautiful and picturesque! Blakeney Cottage company were super helpful and friendly, and went above and beyond. Can’t wait to book again soon. Thank you Jimmy for all of your help!
Josephine Heard, December 2014What an excellent part of the world!!! We have returned a few weeks ago from a lovely stay in The Dingle and absolutely loved it! We had the added bonus of parking, which is always helpful in Blakeney, although this time of year I’m not sure if would have been a problem without! The cottage itself was absolutely stunning and you can tell that the owners have made every effort to make it a real home-from-home. I couldn’t fault a single thing. There was even a bottle of wine and some chocolates to greet us when we arrived, always a good start to a holiday in my opinion!Being just across from the Deli we didn’t have a single morning without a croissant and a coffee, they even made us up a couple sandwiches for our walk along the coastal path. The walks around North Norfolk are wonderful and Wells beach has a dog friendly section which was great for us as our dogs love having a swim in the sea, the children weren’t quite as brave!!We had dinner in The White Horse in Blakeney and, after a recommendation by James from the cottage company, The Morston Anchor. Although the food was superb in both, The Anchor had a much better atmosphere and the staff were much more friendly. The staff at Blakeney Cottage Company were all extremely helpful, James even arranged a babysitter for us with just a few hours notice!! Needless to say we will definitely be returning to Blakeney in the near future and using this company again.
