The Dolls House

As its name suggests, The Dolls House is a small but perfectly formed little cottage just a stones throw from The Quay in Blakeney on the beautiful North Norfolk coast. This quirky little former fisherman’s cottage is Grade II listed and has many interesting, original features both inside and out. Its proximity to The Quay and all of the amenities that this renowned North Norfolk village has to offer make its location hard to beat and its stylish, newly renovated interior gives it a real cosy, romantic feel, just perfect for couples looking for a quiet hideaway on the this most wonderful stretch of coastline.

One enters The Dolls House via a small external porch, perfect for leaving muddy wellies, and into the cosy sitting room. This room is dominated by the original fireplace which now has a modern wood burning stove in it – what better after a bracing walk on the marshes than to come in to a bottle of wine and a roaring fire in this cosiest of cottages! There is a super comfy large L-shaped sofa in front of the fire place and a good sized LED TV with Freeview and DVD player. This room also has a pull out dining table and chairs ideal for lovely cooked breakfasts or those nights you decide it might be nice stay in for dinner!

The kitchen is open to the sitting room and though small, contains everything you could need to whip up your favourite gastronomic delights! There is a brushed stainless steel oven with halogen hob, integrated slimline dishwasher, and integrated fridge neatly tucked under the oak work surface and a microwave oven, K-mix  toaster/grill, kettle etc. on top. Just off the kitchen there is a small utility area which houses a washer drier and separate freezer. There is a door from this small utility area that leads outside to the tiny little courtyard garden and an external storage room.

Up the typical ‘Norfolk winder’ staircase seen in so many of these former fisherman’s cottages is the good sized, duel aspect double bedroom which has plenty of storage and a nice sitting area. Just across the hallway is a small bathroom that has a separate bathtub and walk in shower.

The Dolls House is certainly a cottage that fits its title. It is a small but perfectly formed… beautifully cosy little bolt-hole sitting in a wonderful location here in Blakeney on the North Norfolk Coast – absolutely ideal for romantic coastal getaways!
